Mobile
A mobile platform is something that can be moved around easily like handheld devices, phones, laptops and tablets. Mobile phones and tablets often are run with Apple or Android while laptops have Mac or Windows. The mobile platform has had a lot of innovations due to the tech in the phones being improved over time, this increase in tech can be seen in the types of games being played on mobile devices. The classic game on a mobile was snake and comparing this with the games played now like the mobile version of injustice shows just how much the processing power has been increased on mobile devices. These innovations can be seen even more in the handheld devices such as the 3Ds which is done something what even the consoles haven't got to yet, this is the 3D function. This innovation shows that the mobile platform does not have to catch up to the consoles anymore.

Mobile features and limitations
Mobile features
Small and light devices that can be moved around very easily.
Often when people think of mobile gaming they think of phones, phones are something that you would carry around anyway and to have mobile games on them is just a plus. These devices feature 3G or Wi-Fi so you can play online, touch screen for easier game play and also have a dedicated graphics card and processor.
Hand held games consoles such as the DS and PSP have made a lot of innovations lately. Where the PSP has chose to go for graphics and can run high quality games it does not have that many titles which can show this off where as the DS is created by the company Nintendo which create their own games therefor it has a lot of unique titles despite its graphics not being as good.
Mobile limitations
On mobile phones not all of them support flash games. Games can be downloaded but some cost money however some free games may lag and have a lot of advertisements that pop up during play on them.
The games are no where near advanced as most other gaming machines
The hand held consoles eg the ds and psp have much the same limitations as the mobile phone games
